MARCH OF DIMES RELEASES PRE-TERM BIRTH REPORT CARD

 In 2008 the US saw the first 2-year decline in the pre-term birth rate, following thirty years of increases.  Premature birth can cause long-term disabilities, and is the leading cause of death in newborns; the March of Dimes has worked hard to lower the rate.

 However, the overall report card was pretty dismal; the US received a grade of "D," with high rates   of pre-term birth, especially compared with other industrialized nations.    To read the full report go to http://www.marchofdimes.com/nov17_2010.html
