Licensed Individual and Couples Therapist

Mary Wilkinson, LCSW

Mary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been working with children and families in the Philadelphia area and beyond for 15 years.  Mary received her MSW from Temple University in 2008 after which she worked in child welfare and community mental health as well as school-based therapeutic programs.  Mary has completed over 30 hours of post-graduate training in trauma, specifically the impact of childhood trauma through various developmental stages.  Mary also has advanced clinical training with Postpartum Support International, and is working toward Certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C).  Additionally, she completed the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) three-part training for mental health professionals and is a member of the Mental Health Professionals group of ASRM. Mary is adept at building a quick and strong rapport with a warm and non-judgmental approach to help clients and families from many different backgrounds feel heard and empowered. She approaches clinical work from a strengths-based and systems perspective, working with clients to increase awareness of their triggers, body sensations, emotions, and behaviors in order to build effective coping skills and support systems.  She uses talk therapy as well as mindfulness, breathing, and grounding exercises to support clients in their healing.  Mary is skilled at working with clients navigating fertility and those using assisted reproduction in family building, postpartum stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, childhood trauma, and the transition to parenthood.  Mary also enjoys working with child-parent attachment and bonding, family and sibling adjustment, and parenting children with special needs.
