
A two-hour focused introduction to this BEST OF PHILLY class, designed for both parents/caregivers and little ones from "baby in the belly" to toddler age. In-depth attention is given to the following: when and how to introduce sign language to enhance your child's communication; learning and practicing basic signs in a fun and interactive manner; and strategies for incorporating signs around daily routines such as meal times, bath time, play, diaper changing, and dressing.
Our Baby & Me yoga classes are a great time for mom and baby. Our classes concentrate on the physical needs of a woman after she has given birth and on the special bond between her and her baby. Each class is a fun and dynamic set of yoga poses that engage not only the mom but stimulate the baby as well. Our Baby & Me yoga classes are a wonderful opportunity to meet new moms in the community and to share in the experience of motherhood.
Infant Massage is a great way to nourish your relationship with your baby. Learn touch techniques that will soothe your baby, increase attachment and bonding, improve sleep, help with colic and gas, and provide relaxation for you. All caregivers encouraged to attend. Take home infant massage oil, a lullaby CD, and an instruction booklet. Please bring extra blankets for comfort. Infant Massage is best for babies birth to pre-crawling.
We choose our instructional classes so parents can feel informed and empowered when making decisions about their children. Our small, intimate group settings allow parents to interact ask LOTS of questions.
This class will train parents & caregivers how to respond in an emergency situation for an infant from birth to one year of age. Basic CPR and how to clear an airway obstruction will be taught along with individual hands-on practice. This class does not provide certification; if you are interested in a certification option please let us know and our instructor will work with you to meet your certification needs.
This class encourages prospective parents to view the baby as "the expert" in guiding them through the early months. Discussion includes normal newborn behaviors, appearance and abilities, coping with the physical, emotional and relationship changes after the baby's arrival, coping with fatigue, time management, getting help, dealing with criticism and unsolicited advice, postpartum depression, sexuality and more. Practice the fundamentals of infant care: how to bathe, diaper, dress and comfort a baby. Identify signs of illness, and discuss safety issues.
This workshop will give you the knowledge, confidence, and power to make your own healthy and safe homemade baby food from cereals to supermeals. We'll address the nutritional needs of infants and how what they eat affects all aspects of our lives. You'll take home worksheets, recipes, and lots of time-saving tips.
Ever wonder how your vegetable-loving infant became an I'll-eat-nothing-but-crackers-toddler? This workshop addresses the physical, emotional and nutritional needs of toddlers and young children. We'll discuss moving back from crackers to vegetables again, and learn how to prepare yummy snacks and meals your children will enjoy. You'll take home recipes, money-saving and time-saving tips, and most importantly, the knowledge and power to give your children healthy, happy options in life!
